I felt inspired today, so I wrote:

A Short Allegorical Representation of the Great Work

There are 4 luminaries. Two of them are visible as the celestial luminaries (Sun and Moon), and the other two are central luminaries and normally invisible, until the Artist wills it.

The celestial luminaries, traditionally labeled as "male" and "female", are natural enemies and can never truly unite. The Hot Salamander fights back, but the cold-blooded Remora is a fierce Amazonian warrior, and she finally vanquishes the Salamander, only to succumb shortly afterwards to her own battle wounds.

So at the time of a total solar eclipse, we see a Full Moon that becomes a Blood Moon, by devouring the hot solar fire, literally "eating the sun", just like the allegorical Green Lion or Gray Wolf, or like the Norse wolf Fenrir, who swallows the sun at Ragnarök.

This Blood Moon (now a Red Lion), while succumbing and bleeding to death, allows for the central luminaries to visibly emerge from its blood after a while. These previously hidden Luminaries are the Pole Star and the Black Sun. Unlike the celestial luminaries, the central ones (the Above and the Below) can unite, because after all, they are of the same blood.

These central luminaries of the same blood are like the Dragon's Head and the Dragon's Tail, or the North and South Nodes (Rahu and Ketu), the antipodes of Karmic Astrology. The Pole Star (Dragon's Head) is the "Astral Spirit" and the Black Sun (Dragon's Tail) is the "Androgynous Matter". At this point, after spilling its blood, the corpse of the soli-lunar beast no longer matters. The full tantric union of Heads and Tails eventually generates the Consummatum Est, the sublime & sublimed Center Point, or the 5th Luminary, or the 5th Essence, also known as Quint-Essence.

When the Dragon Reborn no longer leaves a tail behind, we are free from our baggage and from the chains of Karma. The Head and the Tail have become One, Past and Future have united in the Present, and all Astrology (along with its associated deities) is now fully transcended. We no longer operate under archontic jurisdiction.

One journey had ended and a new one has begun.

Bon voyage.

Nicely written @Andro.

I think many bunk anthropologists and historical researchers have completely missed why the ancients revered eclipses. They imagine that these "primitive superstitious" cultures, lacking in modern scientific or astronomical understanding, thought it was some great sign or symbol of the gods, and have completely missed that it is in fact a great sign or symbol that directly speaks to an experience that, for all their scientific and astronomical understanding, the modern researchers simply cannot understand, as they approach these phenomena as uninitiated outsider looking in.

The modern man thus relegates these concepts as some half baked "divinity" that is an explanation of man's ignorant attempt to understand the outside world, but what they miss is what world exactly the ancients were looking at. The modern man who can only cognize that outer world of matter is cut off from the possibility that these events were revered because they were an example of a process that occurs internally, or a connection between the internal processes and the external world, which were not seen to be so divided from each other.

We hold these internal luminaries within us, but I think for many, they are constantly covered by the clouds. We rarely, if ever, see them directly under normal circumstances, without at least some work to remove these clouds. The union has been, at different times, expressed as a wedding, a marriage, the birth of a child, and so on.

That there can be internal lightning, thunder, earthquakes, and a great storm that reveals the calm afterwards, and the creation of new things, has been baked into all sorts of ancient stories, myths, poems, art, and so on, and in many cases is the unspoken basis or beginning of creation mythologies.

Beautiful Andro, thanks for sharing. This makes sense in a profound way.

Merge the sun (crown) with the earth (root) in equal amounts in your heart and make a firey ball then use the new energy to fix your field
There's more actual substance in this post than in this entire thread combined.

IMO, of course :p
This is something that can come naturally to one walking the Path (the word "sun" could be substituted for "heaven", "air" or even "Star").

I innerstand the scope of your answer to Lax's post from that
"Sungazing" thread even better now...

Another Allegorical Representation of the Great Work

Night is Day and Day is Knight
Right is Left and Wrong is Right
Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair
And the Earth is in the Air

Light is Dark and d’Arc is Light
Straight is Crooked, Queer’s Upright
In the Gutter lies the Crown
And we’re hanging Upside Down

Still thy Heart and fix thy Wheel
Nothing is forever Real
Wind the Reel and drown the Skies
And forever Nothing dies

Fairy Queen shines bright and gay
In the merry month of May
Blink thy eyes and click thy heels
Bear the wound that never heals

Hope lies hidden in your fears
Like the Salt within your Tears
In the Crossing Rivers dive
Drink their poison and survive

And remember when you think
You have seen and done it all
That the highest place you reach
Is the place from which you fall

All is One and One is None
Two is Three and Tree is One
One and Two and Three and Four
Equal One n’Evermore.
