A comic book for a change. It was made by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Moebius in the 80's.

It's full of hermetic symbolism and imagery. The eBook on amazon is relatively cheap these days. I can recommend it.

If you ever happen to see the movie "El Topo" by Jodorowsky, beware! There's nothing like it.

from the back cover said:
John Difool, a low-class detective in a degenerate dystopian world, finds his life turned upside down when he discovers an ancient, mystical artifact called "The Incal." Difool’s adventures will bring him into conflict with the galaxy’s greatest warrior, the Metabaron, and will pit him against the awesome powers of the Technopope. These encounters and many more make up a tale of comic and cosmic proportions that has Difool fighting for not only his very survival, but also the survival of the entire universe.

Sounds pretty good!

It is! But it has more layers. This description only covers the top surface. But even that alone makes it a very good comic book. It's a favourite for a lot of people, BTW.

It is awesome in fact. I've seen lectures with phd people trying to "understand" it. LOL.

Jodorowsky was quite influential on pop culture having made the first midnight movie ever (El Topo). The Beatles were very into that and George Harrisson planned to starr in his next movie but refused to have a close up of his anus made.

Jodorowsky then was offered to make "Dune", which they say is the best film never made:

He had the idea for Luc Besson's Fifth Element with Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich too.
