And Arsenic means "male, virile, strong".
It could be the ass/arse that Christ rode into Jerusalem.
And our victory/triumphant stone - nic/nike.

Indeed, I can feel very 'Victorious' when I'm riding a "male, virile, strong" Ass/Arse :D

Perfectly valid interpretation, isn't it?

Point being: Psycho-Phonetics have the potential of becoming quite addictive and one may take them a bit too far at times.

IMO, of course...

The more i learn, the more surprised i am by just how far they took it!
This is the language they spoke. It can't be taken too far, any more than
English can be taken too far. What would that mean? "You've taken
English too far." It has no meaning. :)

The Philosophers were very ingenious and creative, often with a marvelous
sense of humor. "Too far" is relative to the mind of the reader. I don't think
there is such a thing. The Alchemists have gone "so far" that we can't
understand them anymore. We should be going farther rather than
worrying about going too far. If you can't read them, you haven't gone
far enough.
Whether or not it correctly interprets the intended meaning is another matter.

Paracelsus said something to the effect that if you don't have a mind for
Cabala, you'll get nowhere, and that alchemy is not for such people.

Hi Sol

If you are interested in naturally occurring hexagonal minerals then
check out this

I'll have to friendly disagree and maintain my position that there is indeed such a thing as 'going too far' with word games and phonetic associations, so far in fact that it may completely distract us from what's been sitting in front of our eyes the whole time. But of course, one may go as far as one wishes if one's goal is to master phonetic and linguistic associations.

I believe one can not find in words that which can not be expressed in words. If words are Silver - then it's the Gold that I'm after :)

But I guess one likely needs to travel to the Silvery 'End of the Word' to reach the Golden Revelation of the Danish Prince.

'May you reach/go far' is a common wish/blessing.

I don't make such wishes. Instead, I say : 'May you come close'

;)

Ok :)
I'll friendly disagree back. It's not word games. It's a language.

By the way, I know what the Secunda Materia is, just in the last hour.

And it has not been mentioned in this thread, not specifically anyway.

It is not one specific element, though one element is the base of these minera.

Our serpent is there, our crocodile, and our salamander, untouched by the fire.

Regardless of seamingly conflicting POV's - it is my sincere hope that we are heading for our common goal, even if coming from different directions.

The Ways Of Attraction Are Many ;)

I agree with Leo. Because when Fulcanelli was asked, out of what his Philosophic Stone was made at the transmutation at Sarcelles his disciple Canseliet performed in front of some scientists he said: "Pyrite"! And in his "Dwellings of the Philosophers" he shows a very easy process out of pyrite and praises that in one distillation you can extract the mercury and the sulfur out of the dissolution in the flask.

:)

Sorry its taking me longer to respond I'm currently on vacation...... I left Alaska a couple of weeks ago..... I'm currently collecting marcasite nodules in New Mexico.....wyrd that when I met my dad in Tacoma he had a jar full of them although they were heavily oxidised and useless,... you have to get them while they are still green....but he remembered where he collected them from 10 years ago.
Marcasite is a polymorph so under contact with air it will convert into pyrite but not all pyrite was once marcasite. Whats interesting is its crystaline structure is converted from a cockscomb which is wholly original for any mineral into a cubic crystalline configuration when it becomes pyrite.

In Dwellings, Fulcaneli also said that country children encountered them in clayish rock outcroppings and played with them ; marcasite nodules or balls in the street.....child's play......

Zlan, just to eliminate any confusion I just like to say that they are not the prima matera, neither is any other mineral for that matter, the true prima matera is the aether that the marcasite attracts out of the air,... it is pure consciousness, the mind and the breath of God, literally the first matter that existed before anything, this is collected as a tangible water, this is separated by distillation, this is the water that wets not the hands, what nothing in our art can be accomplished without ,the subject of the tract ; Chemical Moonshine that you must attract by any means neccassary, the subject of The Waterstone of The Wise and as Glauber describes in sweet oil of vitriol they(the marcasite nodules) grow heavy by it, a saltish moisture that they attract...why? because it is the philosophic gold, exactly what the Annunaki came where to collect to repair their planet with just like the Sumerian cuniforms describe. What is most interesting is how abundantly apparent this water is present in clay,...i.e. the "fat" places of the earth and how they literally grow in clay like a seed that was planted, due no doubt to the iron , i.e the martian influence that attracts this "water" from within the clay, also in Dwellings, Fulcanelli goes to great extent to give a discourse on clay and the microcosm of man and the hermetic vase, e.g. the same iron that flows in the blood of man present in clay and the biblical description of God forming man out of clay....follow the analogies... experience the revelation that Fulcanelli describes,.... as I have......

Thanks Leo,

for the mind blowing discourse. You are way ahead of me. I guess an adept like you that has realised the stone in various ways can afford to let his mind wander and endlessly find new meanings to the puzzles that those masters like Fulcanelli left us. We mundane people still have to struggle even to get the current in the geode running.

I find that the prima materia is the quintessence that's distilled out of the materia remota which is mainly the two marcasites stibnite and pyrite. When I did the Flamel path which uses common mercury that gets animated by the star regulus of antimony and after cohobation the red philosophic sulfur stays behind. That philosophic sulfur turns to gold when you heat it up high.

Thus I just wanted to illustrate that the philos. mercury does not have to come from exotic places. Common poisonous mercury is also able to deliver the gold.

But you are right there is obviously more subtle meanings in the Dwellings and in your discourses than one notices at first sight.

Absolutely.

Like I wrote before, the 'First Matter' is actually what is says it is...

This is scene a common one in the woodlands of France and Italy during the spring and summer months, it is one of truffle hunters digging for truffles. The European truffle as many might be familiar with, grows as a parasite in the roots of Oak Trees. However it is only an allegory as I will show both our rocky mineral lumps of Albaon and the truffle which bare a striking resemblance to each other were both known to the philosophers. And the oak tree, the mighty Quercus is symbolic of our philosophical oak tree, or finely divided quartz or in this case, "Fulcanelli's dry arid tree"... a reddish desert sand, and Maria the Prophetess' clear herb(quartz) that grows upon small hilllocks(sand dunes). It is no wonder then why the author of this book himself being a Jew and having held the desert truffle(Terfezia arenaria) repupidated to be Moses's manna in such high regard would have veiled the rock that Moses struck in the desert and that Glauber had his sweet oil of vitriol from in its symbolism, and as we will see through my research as well, that the connections between these two forms of manna go beyond that of the living world and return to the realm of God for they both have their beginnings, that is the desert truffle and the marcasire nodule are born from a union of clay or sandy earth, aetheric fire and dew/salt of nitre through a truely mystical process and are both truely Manna sent from heaven.

(Marcasite nodules found in clay/chalk)

180-manganese-nodules.jpg

(Polymetallic iron/mangenese nodules from deep ocean seafloor containing cobalt ,iridium, bismuth)

But first let me re-iterate by diverting your attention back to the Golden chain of Homer and the subject of metallic generation to gain a firm footing in Abraham's allegory and his mineral rocky lumps of Albaon.

Table of Generation

Anima Mundi
Fire
in
Nitre and Salt
United and fermented become
acid and Corrosive
dissolve a suitable Earth
and form
A vitriolic Soft butyraceous Gur; The above Vapours becoming more and more corrosive retain their androgynal nature of Nitre and Salt and constitute now a double sulphureous and arsenical or merurial Vapour

this setting by corroding forms nature
vitriol, sulphur, arsenic,
and by succeeding sulphur vapours, and also arsenical
Vapours, they form and generate

When Sulphur predominates:
Sulphurous Macarsites:
Pyritis, Antimony etc, Wolfram etc.
Mars Venus Sun

When Arsenic predominates:
Arsenical, Marcasites:
Cobalt,Bismuth etc.
Saturn Jupiter Moon

When both principles are in equality
they form [unidentified symbol] cinnabar mercury

Mercury

So we have the spiritus mundi/fire becoming niter and salt being united and fermented/putrfying and after which having become corrosive have dissolved a suitable earth in clay/sand to form the vitriolic buttery gur or sperm and have been converted into iron/arsenic/sulfur(AsFeS2-marcasite and arseneopyrite) and thus the marcasite nodule or our rocky lump of albaon is born. Of this vitriolic gur we have evidence of in certain sepatarian nodules in which its consistancy can be seen to have been soft and subtle before it been exposed to air upon which it hardens:

septarian%20nodule.jpg

where the gur has hardened and crystallized into thick, opaque, nebulous ,greasy calcite.

http://www.mindat.org/photos/0517436001221682262.jpg
where it has prematurely cracked the nodule and the gur squeezed out and solidified into pyrite.

septariannoduleroughspheres.jpg

septarian nodules: Cracks are highly variable in shape and volume, as well as the degree of shrinkage they indicate. Although it has commonly been assumed that concretions grew incrementally from the inside outwards, the fact that radially oriented cracks taper towards the margins of septarian concretions is taken as evidence that in these cases the periphery was stiffer while the inside was softer, presumably due to a gradient in the amount of cement precipitated.

The process that created the septaria, which characterize septarian concretions, remains a mystery. A number of mechanisms, i.e. the dehydration of clay-rich, gel-rich, or organic-rich cores; shrinkage of the concretion's center; expansion of gases produced by the decay of organic matter; brittle fracturing or shrinkage of the concretion interior by either earthquakes or compaction; and others, have been proposed for the formation of septaria (Pratt 2001). At this time, it is uncertain, which, if any, of these and other proposed mechanisms is responsible for the formation of septaria in septarian concretions (McBride et al. 2003). Septaria usually contain crystals precipitated from circulating solutions, usually of calcite. Siderite or pyrite coatings are also occasionally observed on the wall of the cavities present in the septaria, giving rise respectively to a panoply of bright reddish and golden colors. Some septaria may also contain small calcite stalagtites and well-shaped millimetric pyrite single crystals.

Marcasite nodules sold under the name ascension stones and boji stones as well as septarian nodules sold as DRAGON STONE HEALING STONES are high valued by new-agers and crystal healers.

Now onto Abraham the Jew:
"Alone the dear Ancients have learned through diligent speculation of Nature, what was their origin before the commencement, and out of What the Life of all creatures took its origin, and how the Generation and commencement of the Metals may have their Origin. This the dear Ancients have very closely observed, examined and found, that all metals took their origin ex mercury or Phythone, thence are they driven, and have taken the Phyton, and have also therewith gone to work.

They have however experienced harm with such because it has become too metallic; so have they sought an other materiam, in which the Spirit Mercury is not yet made metallic; and found such likewise among the Minerals, and afterwards called this with divers names, as Albaon in Arabic, in Latin, Plumbum Nigrum, Abackhozodi, a black heavy stuff; they have also called it Magnesium, Bismuth.

Our Ancients have called the stuff Puch, it is however not the common Stibium, but a black grey rock, often with white and other beautiful colours adorned, heavy in weight, as I already taught you.

Dear brethren, to give you yet a consolation till then, and to cheer you, have I again drawn a figure in order to impress on you right deeply the secrets. You see an Old hollow Oak-tree standing in a garden around which is twisted a rose bush with red roses, which has gilt leaves. Underneath from the stem of the tree runs a Lunar white Water.

There are some who not far from this have hoed and digged, but found nothing; except those who by the way, who contemplated the weight. Dear brethren the old tree is our black and heavy rocky lumps of our Albaon (Saturn).

You must strike this rock, till it gives Water, as you have already previously with all circumstances been instructed and taught. For the Lunar white Water, which flows underneath from the tree, is our Phyton Columba Dianae, which is heavy. That however the tree bears red rose with gilt leaves, such signified the Blood of the Old One, which must be drawn out of such visibly, as the Blood of the Lion, or our secret.

That it however flows underneath out of the tree signifies a Lunar white Water, which should be prepared from the root of such a thing, so that in all parts of its nature it shall be Kin to the Sol and Luna, and that it may be also easily made firm and stable.

If you should lose all writings, then you should only depict those Figures, or draw such for you children, so will they, as others who are of a good understanding. Easily understand such, for one dares only to speak with few words, what concerns the Mysteria, come to the help of it.

Dear brethren, in order that I however suppress nothing which could serve for your advantage, so mark what wonders the Ancients have accomplished, when they have taken the Phytonis or our Gluten Aquilae, that you might yet better understand, our Columbam Dianae, and with such have also gone to work.

They have taken this as it ascended from the Old One; and have caused it to fly over the mountain, i.e., over the Alembic, for 7 times, so has it become brilliant, but in thus doing it the Basilis Kischer way (Figure 23).

Thus we can see that Abraham which I gave example of in my Dry Water Thread with his process of dew on marcz(clay) and even Fulcanelli spoke of two ways first a wet way in which clay was used with dew to produce the philosophic mercury through conversion of the elements into a perfectly decocted universal sperm, equal parts water, equal parts earth, thus a water -stone, and a water which wets not the hands and then used this alkahest to ferment gold. The second path uses the same matter but in a different state, for the philosopher knew well that this gur of nature had to exist in the ground as well and so they went looking for it until they found a stone where the spirit or sperm had not yet become fully specified and become a particular metal, but was still soft and gellantinous and since this metallic seed or auric seed was already present one only needed to purify this gur and needed no fermentation with gold. One matter , one vessel, one fire

Now from the premise of which I began I shall return to the topic of the desert truffle and explore it historical, biblical and alchemical/spiritual significance and why Abraham choose to encode his analogy therein, but one has to conjecture for a moment did Abraham grasp at straws or did God himself through his infinite wisdom engineer these two in such close relationship to engender our awe in his creation, and through divine coincedence cause us to stumble over this perverbial rock and cause us to take a closer look ....I claim the later. And maybe in fact in the end it was its appearance that first caused Moses to try and strike it only to find that it was not vegatable but instead mineral, and that its medicine was not only a good medicine for his bodiliy eyes but also opened his third eye/ the burning bush of the hebrew eye brow and brought him to a span of 900 years.

I have already shown the similarity in appearance between the marcasite nodule and the oak truffle now we shall explore the quercus connection, as you will see in the article below desert truffles have for a pre-requiste for growth : a sandy soil, thus our quercus connection, calcium rich soils of which an oak tree is also rich in and nitrates created from from dew and lightning strikes/thunderstorms:
http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/jan2007.html

‘Desert truffle’ is a term used to refer to members of the genera Terfezia and Tirmania in the family Terfeziaceae, order Pezizales, which grow in arid and semi-arid areas of the Mediterranean region, the Arabian Peninsula, and North-Africa. Some have been found in South Africa and China. The photograph to the right was taken by Dr. Nissan Binyamini in the Israeli Negev Desert. Nissan Binyamini wrote the only mushroom guide for amateurs in Hebrew, and headed the Dept. of Botany at the Tel Aviv University for many years. Species of Terfezia and Tirmania prefer high pH calcareous soils, typical of desert soils. Although the genera Terfezia and Tirmania are primarily ectomycorrhizal (forming a sheath around the roots of their host plant), they are highly adaptable. Some species, like Terfezia arenaria, Terfezia claveryi, and Tirmania pinoyi, form endomycorrhizal associations in phosphate-poor soils and ectomycorrhizal associations in phosphate-rich soils. Species of both genera form mycorrhizas on roots mainly of members of the genus Helianthemum (family Cistaceae), relatives of the North American rock rose, but can also form relationships with members of other families in the absence of species of Helianthemum. These relationships contribute to Helianthemum’s adaptability to drought conditions and facilitate absorption of nutrients, particularly nitrates. This finding may provide an explanation for folklore shared by Bedouins in the Israeli Negev and truffle hunters in Morocco, claiming that truffles will grow where lightning strikes during thunderstorms. ( more on this subject)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has been shown that plenty of rain in the beginning of the rainy season is necessary to ensure a good truffle crop in spring. Even so, many truffle hunters, including the Bedouins of the Negev, believe that truffles appear suddenly, without seed or root, swollen by early season’s rains, and loosened from their sandy bed by the loud rumblings of strong thunderstorms. These beliefs go back thousands of years. In 1st century C.E., Pliny the Elder (Gaius Plinius Secundus), wrote in his Naturalis Historia, Book xix, “Among the most wonderful of all things is the fact that anything can spring up and live without a root. These are called truffles (tubera). They are surrounded on all sides by earth, and supported by no fibers. There are two kinds: one is sandy and injures the teeth, the other without any foreign matter. Those of Africa are the most esteemed. Peculiar beliefs are held for they say that they are produced during autumn rains, and thunderstorms especially, and are best for food in the spring. They grow…where there is much sand. The Jewish Talmud (the record of rabbinic discussion of the Jewish law), echoed the same claim. Truffles and mushrooms are usually discussed together in the Babylonian Talmud (compiled and redacted in Iraq in the 5th Century C.E.). The Rabbis considering the issue concluded that truffles and mushrooms do not grow from the soil. Rather, they spontaneously appear in the soil. In one place it is said that, “they emerge as they are in one night, wide and round like rounded cakes”.

The most common species of the genus Terfezia are Terfezia arenaria (syn. T. leonis), T. boudieri, T. claveryi, T. leptoderma, and T. terfezioides (=Mattirolomyces terfezioides) and although just separated - T. pfeilii (syn. Kalaharituber pfeilii). The most common species of the genus Tirmania are Tirmania nivea and T. pinoyi (syn. T. africana). Terfezia spp. have spherical and ornamented spores, while Tirmania spp. have smooth spores and amyloid asci. The fruitbodies are round, tan to brown, and look like small, sandy potatoes. They are a few centimeters across, and weigh about 1-10 oz. The truffles produced by both genera are similar in overall look, and are not easy to tell apart. A simple iodine test can separate them. A drop of iodine on the cut flesh of Terfezia fruitbody will not change or turn yellow to orange. Cut fruitbodies of Tirmania will turn blue-green to black. The color of their gleba (the flesh of the fruitbodies) depends on the species, and its shade can be white to light cream, cream to yellow, and even pink. At this stage the spores are unripe, and they will ripen once the truffle matures, usually above the ground in the sun. The gleba is then much darker and can even be black. Their unique flavor develops as they reach maturity.

There is a close genetic relationship between species of Tirmania and Terfezia, and they may have arisen from a single evolutionary lineage of fungi that adapted to the heat and drought by growing its fruitbodies underground. Terfezia spp. generally prefer semi-arid habitats, and Tirmania spp. are more adapted to arid deserts, but species of both genera often share the same habitat, and even the same Helianthemum host, forming their fruitbodies around it. This may show that the initiation of a fruitbody by one species is not inhibited by the initiation of another fruitbody close by. The truffles of both genera grow at the end of the rainy season, in spring, usually between March and June.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Desert truffles are called by a number of different names and by variations of these names. They are called terfez or terfas in Morocco, Libya, and Egypt. Since truffles were shipped from North Africa to the Roman Empire for many years, terfez may be the source of the scientific name for the genus Terfezia. The white Tirmania nivea is called zubaydiya in Saudi Arabia and Oman, and the Nama people of Namibia call the Kalahari truffle: “! / nabba” (the “!” stands for a click of the tongue on the upper palate, combined with an ‘N’ sound). However, the most prevalent names by which desert truffles are called all over the Arabian peninsula and the Eastern shores of the Mediterranean, are variations on the words kama and faqa. These are ancient terms which have been used in the region for thousands of years, and still refer to truffles in modern Arabic, Hebrew, and Aramaic. The term ‘pagua’ is even mentioned in the Bible.

Even though they are formed underground, the fruitbodies of desert truffles are not very deep and can be visible to the trained eye. They are connected to their rhizomorphs and to their host’s roots by a stalk-like formation made of hyphae. It is thin, but some species form a thick ‘stem’ that can reach a length of 40cm. Local truffle hunters believe that this stem pushes the truffle out of the ground. In his book, “The Bedouins and the Desert”, Jibrail Jabbur writes, “If left ungathered, the white truffle [Tirmania nivea] grows underground by leaps and bounds until it bursts through and appears on the surface of the ground. When it has reached its maximum size, it sometimes rolls out of the mouth of its little ‘volcano’ and its skin begins to wrinkle…in the sun”. Exposed ripe desert truffles spoil within a few hours, and are often overtaken by insect larvae. Truffle collectors hunt for them in the early hours of the morning. The sun light reflecting off of the dew drops on the sand particles helps detect the cracked bumps in the sand, which are the tell tale signs of a truffle emerging. Because desert truffles grow so close to the surface, there is no need to use pigs or trained dogs to find them. Experienced truffle collectors can detect an emerging truffle from a distance, and often return season after season to the same areas, keeping the locations of their favorite spots a secret.

Where desert truffles grow, people eagerly await their appearance. They are collected for their unique flavor, nutritional value, and medicinal properties. For these reasons, they have always been in demand, making them a lucrative cash crop for local populations. In the past few years, the demand for desert truffles in Europe has been growing rapidly. It occupies a special niche, and benefits from the growing Middle Eastern population in Europe and from the Europeans’ traditional passion for truffles. Terfez from North Africa reach the European markets each spring, and even the Kalahari truffle has a market in Germany. Irrigation of the native truffle producing areas in times of drought could help secure a more predictable supply of truffles to the growing markets. Efforts have been made to cultivate desert truffles in Turkey, Israel, Saudi-Arabia, Namibia and other places within their growing areas, but so far with only modest success.

Truffles have always been a popular delicacy. Kamma were craved by rulers of Mesopotamia. In the excavations of the 4000 year old Amorite palace in Tel-Hariri (eastern Syria), archeologists found remnants of truffles still in their special baskets as well as mentions of them in the palace’s inventory lists. The Pharaohs of ancient Egypt cherished them as food… fit for the Pharaohs, and arranged for large quantities to be brought to their palaces. The Roman Emperors regularly imported massive quantities of terfez from Libya and Greece. In the Jewish Mishna (first recording of the Jewish oral law, redacted around the 2nd Century C.E.), truffles (‘kmehin’ in plural) symbolize plenitude and Devine reward, as presented by the 1st Century B.C.E. story of Honi the Circle Drawer.

The Bedouins have always held truffles in high esteem, and consider them a special gift. Their folklore includes stories about the contribution of truffles to Bedouin life. In his travels across the deserts of Arabia, Jibrail Jabbur observed Bedouins collecting their most appreciated truffle, the White Truffle, Terfezia nivea. In “Bedouins and the Desert” he writes, “its skin and pith are both white, its pith is softer, neither as firm nor as round as the brown and black truffle. The Bedouin calls them Shaykh [the leader of a Bedouin tribe] and when the Bedouin girl is collecting truffles she sings to them…I personally saw a white Shaykh… and dug it out with my own hands. It weighed more than 1,400 grams [about 3 lbs] and measured 24 cm [about 10 inches] in diameter. From a distance I thought it was a large rock, since it lay exposed on the surface of the ground, as white truffles generally do when they are fully mature”.

The Bedouins of the Negev use truffles for food, as a cash crop and as medicine for a variety of ailments. They dry them and use the flour for stomach ailments, and open cuts. They use the juice of the truffles to treat eye infections. They were recommended by the Prophet Muhammad (in the 7th Century C. E.), especially for problems of the eyes. It is written in the Tirmidhi Hadith (No. 1127), “When some companions of Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) remarked to him that truffles were the smallpox of the earth, he replied, “Truffles are a kind of Manna, which Allah the Glorious and Exalted sent down upon the people of Israel, and their juice is a remedy for the eyes”. The Bedouins in the Negev do not allow truffles anywhere near fermenting milk when preparing samene (fermented butter, similar to gee). They say that it will stop the delicate process of fermentation. Antibacterial substances have been isolated from the juice of a variety of desert truffles. In 2004, a Jordanian research team isolated a promising peptide antibiotic from the juice of Terfezia claveryi, which effectively inhibited the growth (in vitro) of Staphylococcus aureus by 66.4%.

Thus we can see from the above article that the Jews especially held them in such high esteem, a fact no doubt that coupled to their appearance prompted Abraham the Jew the form an allegory in which he veiled our rocky lumps of albaon.

Lightning and the truffle

On the Dry Water Thread I mentioned how nitrates/nitrites/nitric acid could be formed by passing electric sparks through moist air, so the elemental mechanism once again is fire/spiritus mundi plus air plus water equals niter and salt or "celestial dew", now see how just like the marcasite nodules these desert truffles get their life from the spiritus mundi and is directed to the vegatable kingdom by God.
http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/more.html

"Absorption of nitrates by the plant is enhanced considerably by the truffle, because the truffle’s mycelia and ascocarps reduce nitrate at a much higher rate than the rootlets of the plant alone. This is believed to play an important role in the release of spores. It may also provide at least a partial explanation for the persistent observation made by desert truffle collectors that strong lightning during rainy thunderstorms in fall will bring out the truffles in large quantities during the spring. Nitrogen is an abundant element. About 80% of the air is nitrogen. Inorganic nitrogen may exist in the free state as nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), or ammonia (NH3+). It can also exist in the free state as a gas (N2). During a rainstorm accompanied by lightning, a very high electrical potential is discharged instantaneously, and nitrogen can be dissociated to nitrogen atoms or nitrogen free radicals. The atoms and free radicals can form nitrogen compounds with water molecules, which include hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen atoms. These compounds are water soluble and are dissolved in the water drops surrounding them, which in turn carry them down to the ground. The hydrogen-nitrogen-oxygen compounds have ionic nature, and can easily form potassium salt, natrium salt, and other cationic metal salts once they hit the ground where these metal cations are available. Some of these nitrogen-hydrogen-oxygen metal salts are effective fertilizers. Those could be present in much higher concentrations in the soil after massive lightning and thunder rainstorms have occurred. It is known that fungi require nitrogen compounds in order to initiate fruiting. Maybe the persistent claim made by many local collectors that truffles abound in the areas hit by strong lightning and thunder rainstorms, has a scientific base. The Bedouins of the Negev even call desert truffles ‘the thunder fungus’"

Petrified wood, probably oak or palm with marcasite growing on it.

""Minerals from the chalk - Iron Pyrites and Marcasite nodules
Iron Pyrite and Marcasite are two other commonly found minerals in the chalk, though they are essentially two forms of the same substance, Iron Sulphide (FeS2), crystallised under differing conditions. They are frequently deposited within hydrothermal veins, though can be produced in many other conditions, and both are frequently altered to other forms and minerals.
Pyrite is the most numerous form on Bell Hill, with some nodules up to 100 mm across, and in varying shapes from spherical (see picture) to downright rude!.(see pic below)
The Marcasite is in smaller nodules, and often of a form known as Cock's Comb Marcasite, due to its Cock's Comb shaped crystal form. Many deposits contain differing forms of both Marcasite and Pyrite in the same 'nodule', whilst at the other end of the scale one nodule approx. 50 mm diameter was composed of near perfect Marcasite crystals"
.

Then again sometimes they are literally cocks comb, minus the comb(top one) latin: lumbus or the variant cockus and ballus :D

I guess God has a sense of humor after all. Hey, wait a minute :D theres even a ruler down below---hmm, ;) 6 inches, yeah, about average.

Hidden in the innermost depths of the Chaos of the Sages, our black matter, is pure light. The vulgar fire of the concoction activates the secret fire hidden within the matter, and allows for the rota to begin revolving.

The Chaos of the Sages releases a very deadly spirit that lacks all smell, and because of the odorless nature of the spirit of the Dragon you'll never know that you've been poisoned until your body begins to deteriorate.

Many have fallen prey to this phenomena.

Good to see at least someone gets it :D. Nice post Aleilius.

Spirit works upon spirit, light upon light, fire upon fire, but within a single largely enclosed space. There is a reason it's the Hermetic Art. You could almost say geothermal vents are like a flute that is played but never heard.

Deuteronomy:
13 And of Joseph he said: Blessed of the LORD be his land; for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

Do you see how these descriptions coincide with the writings on gur in the Golden Chain and other places, a vapor, a dew upon which is born the spirit of the world, descends into caverns and coalesces and coagulates on the walls of caves and old houses as John Dee says, as a niter dust, a grey virgin earth.

You can also find it mentioned in Psalms [133:1-3] of the Old Testament (KJV):
“Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity! [It is] like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, [even] Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, [and as the dew] that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, [even] life for evermore.”

The sweat of the moon, the dew, also gave alternative names to the Rosicrucians, The Brothers of the Boiled Dew. The Philosopher’s Stone = The Celestial Dew, but now I am preaching to the choir... right Leo? As for the mention of Hermon... well:

Mount Hermon is a possible site of the Transfiguration, where Jesus, according to the New Testament, took three of his disciples, Peter, James, and John, up on a high mountain for prayer. Jesus is reported to have became radiantly white and conversed with Moses and Elijah, who had appeared beside him. - source

Again I think Jesus is tripping his nuts off, but things makes even more sense if we think of Jesus as a Mushroom (or even a truffle perhaps).

In regards to truffles, as mentioned a few posts back, I have had some interesting experiences with Magic Truffles, or Sclerotia.

A sclerotium (plural: sclerotia) is a hardened mass of mycelium which is more resistant to adverse environmental conditions than normal mycelium.
Sclerotia form from the mycelium of certain mushroom species as a defense mechanism against dryness, cold, heat, or excessive moisture. Sclerotia contain approximately 30% dry matter. The potency of dry sclerotia is around 2/3 that of dry Psilocybe cubensis fruitbodies. - source

The true Rose Croix are transfigured beings, by partaking of the secret fire that lies hidden in the salt of the mysterious celestial dew they have been set ablaze and engulfed by it and are now solar beings, safe from all fire and death, they travel the skys as balls of fire, have you not seen them? They have made themselves known to me,... just like Potpurri Alchemica states in The Universal Process (being a Treatise on Dew) that, "Take note during your work, many Fratres Rose Crucis will come to you because you caused them to see it", but honestly speaking I am still very much afraid to approach one in person.

Transfiguration is real and can be accomplished before the body dies, unlike what is taught by the so-called outer orders of the Golden Dawn and passed down lineages that have been self-claimed, it is not neccessarily done by inner alchemy alone, but by condensing the spirtus mundi as a tangible liquid, and fullfilling Deuteromony 13 by Genesis 27:28 by uniting the dew of heaven with the fatness of the land.

If you eat and trip of certain mushrooms it is said to leave traces in the urine, and then if you drink this you can trip again i.e. Golden Dawn. I think Aleilius and I talked about this a long time ago... what is your thoughts on this as an origin of the name Golden Dawn?

I think it becomes readily apparent that the names Golden Dawn, L.V.X, Order of The Morning Star and Stella Matuna of which the latter three were alternate names or offshoots of the original Golden Dawn, speak to the alchemical symbolism of Venus, the Lightbearer, Illuminator or Lucifer if you will, which literally means lightbearer or L.V.X. which precedes the dawn, the idea of which was borrowed from the freemasons of which the original founders all were members of masonic lodges, that is why one pre-requisite of Rosie-crucian affliation was that the pledging member be a master mason.I have written about the Leo Taxil hoax and how the exposure of the mention of Lucifer in lodge prayers led to the propagation that the masons were devil worshipers, also I have shown that nowhere in the bible is Lucifer actually equated with Satan or the Adversary. That was here. Sorry, but to me this is the absolute origin of the name and has nothing to do with piss or magic mushrooms. :D However your indications of the origin of the Rosicrucians seems to me partially correct although it can symbolize many ideals as well, but especially the outright appearance of the bursting of the clay crucible that Fulcanelli spoke of when the stone was ready....... "becomes the agent of the marvelous transformations which characterize the philosophers’ stone, rosa hermetica. The rose is sometimes white, sometimes red, depending on the ferment, silver or gold, which serves to orient our first stone. Flamel describes for us the two philosophers’ flowers, blooming on the same rosebush, Flamel describes for us in his Book of Hieroglyphic Figures. They similarly embellish the title page of Mutus Liber, and are seen blooming in a crucible, on the Gobille engraving illustrating the twelfth key of Basil Valentine. It is known that the celestial Virgin wears a crown of white roses and it is also known that the red rose is the signature reserved to the initiates of the higher order, the Rose Cross ."....The central rose in fact appears in the center of the St Andrew cross, formed by the rising of stone bandelettes which we can assume had previously covered and enclosed it. It is the great symbol of manifested light (9), which is indicated by the Greek letter X (khi), initial of the words [*197-1] (Chone), [*197-2] (Chrysos), and [*197-3] (Chronos), crucible, gold, and time, triple unknown of the Great Work. The cross of St Andrew ([*197-4] --- Chiasma), in the shape of an X, is the hieroglyph of luminous and divergent radiations, emanated from a unique fire/center, reduced to its simplest expression. Therefore, it is clearly the graphic of the spark. Its radiation can be multiplied, but it is impossible to further simplify it. These intersecting lines produce the diagram of the shining of stars, of the radiating dispersion of all that shines, lightens and irradiates. Thus it has been made the seal, the mark of illumination, and, in a wider sense, of spiritual revelation. The Holy Spirit is always perpendicular to its body, that is to say, in a cross......

......Yet at the end of his path, the investigator will notice a sign, the only one whose appearance indicates success and confirms the perfection of the sulphur by the total fixation of mercury; this sign consists in the spontaneous bursting of the vessel. Once the time has elapsed, by laterally uncovering a part of its side, we notice, when the experiment has succeeded, one or more lines of a dazzling clarity, clearly visible on the less brilliant background o the envelope. These are the cracks revealing the happy birth of the young king. Just like at the end of incubation the hen’s egg breaks under the effort of the chick, similarly the shell of our egg breaks as soon as the sulphur is produced. There is, among these results, an evident analogy in spite of the different causes, for in the mineral Work, the breaking of the crucible can logically be attributed only to a chemical action, unfortunately impossible to conceive or explain. Let us note however that the rather well known fact often occurs under the influence of certain combination of lesser interest. Thus, for example, while leaving aside, after having cleansed them well, new crucibles which have only been used once, for the fusion of metallic glass, the production of hepar sulphuris, or diaphoretic antimony, they are found cracked after a few days without one being able to explain the obscure reason of this late phenomenon. The considerable spacing of their bulges shows that the fracture seems to occur by the push of an expansive force acting from the center towards the periphery at room temperature and long after the actual use of these vessels.
" So you see,...... it is the crucible that blossoms into a rose.

Btw If you look at the planet Venus its beams and flares of light resemble a cross with a rose at the center.

And then there's this which in itself is a great mystery.
venus-sun-orbit-pentagram.jpg

Which is completed every 40 years, the number of which 40 became an important theme in the bible.

It must just be one of those beautiful coincidences then:D

The Lucifer issue I have long been aware of. And the only Satanic force, IMHO, in the Bible is God... why else would he stop them from eating from the Tree of Knowledge!

In relation to the bursting of the clay crucible I meant to post this also from Fulcanelli's Dwellings "Panel 4 --- Closed by its narrow lid, with a fat albeit split belly, a common clay pot fills with its plebian and cracked majesty the surface of this panel. Its inscription states that the vase of which we see the image, must open by itself and manifest by its destruction the completion of that which it holds:

.INTVS.SOLA.FIENT.MANIFESTA.RVINA.

Only the inside makes the ruin manifest.

If you put a nitrate solution in a terracotta pot it seeps through it and crystallises on the outside.
In my particular case the pot crumbled.

Ghislain

Edit: Treating the Latin text as the vessel breaking off the outer words "SOLA.FIENT.MANIFESTA"
translates roughly as "through support it will be made clear" maybe :)

You like puzzles don't you Ghislain? .INTVS.SOLA.FIENT.MANIFESTA.RVINA.="Only the inside makes the ruin manifest."

It happens because of a mysterious force inside the clay, this force is responsible for the alchemical transformation of the clay into the stone of the wise, this force is the reason why nothing else is needed, if you penetrate deep enough into these mysteries you will understand the nature of this force, why it causes the crucible to bloom, why it activates incandescence in some substances (perpetual lamps), why it can color gemstones by only being brought into its presence, why it transmutes metals, and why it heals and rejuvenates the human constitution, but why only a little should be ingested twice a year, think about multiplication of the stone and why beyond the second turn of the wheel it is no longer fit for the human constitution causing ruin instead of well being, think about why it makes the hair, nails and teeth to fall out if one consumes too much, but at the same time why after multiplication it has become more and more fit for the transmutation of metals. When you have penetrated these mysteries you will understand why the philosophers called this mysterious force their, "secret fire".

"It must be agreed that to be symbolized under such a deformed and monstrous appearance --- dragon, serpent, vampire, devil, Tarasqu. Etc. --- this unfortunate subject must have fallen into disgrace with Nature. In truth, its appearance has nothing seductive about it. Black, scaly, often covered with red spots or a yellow, crumbly and dull coating, having a strong and nauseous odor which the philosophers define as toxicum et venenum, it stains fingers when it is touched and seems to assemble within itself all that which can displease. Yet it is, this primitive subject of the sages, vile and despised by the ignorant ones, which is the only one, the sole dispense of the celestial water, our first mercury, and the great Alkahest (2)."

pyrites1.jpg

Marcasite,... FeS2......the appearance is there....the arsenic is there...the sulfur is there.....and the philosophic gold is there...and its historic use among the philosophers and alchemists is there as well.. The yellowish coating on the surface of the cockscomb crystals is similar in appearance and composition to the scaly formations on the surface of antimony trisulfide,..aka stibinite....an attribute that I believe led to its confusion with marcasite where it was described by the ancients.

Yes, I found something similar under a different name but same substance: see Sory/Rusma

the path of vitriol is the most ancient, by romanum atramentum, or iron sulphate which in its most natural state is the iron sulphate marcasite nodules that grow in clayish earths
Friends, what is Atramentum, is it ordinary Vitriol?
