Hi all,

Lately I found myself with a lack of time, and I was asked to make something medicinal for a friend.

He has a small skin affliction, and I don't have the time to do a full alchemical plant medicine.

I decided to go old school for this, use some of my grandparents knowledge of healing.

I was thinking maybe some people are in a similar situation, and decided to do a small tutorial to show my steps.

This is level 0 of a medicinal recipe :D

I choose to work with Celandine. Here is some small info about this plant, and properties. Its a wonderful medicinal plant.

People use greater celandine for conditions such as cancer, problems with the digestive tract, liver and gallbladder disorders, skin conditions, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

Using greater celandine can also be unsafe.

With all this in mind, let's proceed.

I took fresh plant, leaves, roots, all, and removed the dead or bad leaves, and wash with fresh water.

Chopped it in small pieces, and placed them in a glass jar, and cover it with 96% ethanol.

Now I covered with a plastic sheet then put a cap and marked the date.

Leave this in a dark and cool place for about 14 days, then apply on the skin, or ingest.

Dose: 10 drops in a cup of water on a empty stomach, for ingestion.

To make it more alchemical inclined, after the 14 days, you filter the liquid, calcine the plants, extract the salts and mix them with the liquid.

I know there are 100 better ways to do this, but I choose this recipe for lack of time.

You can go and make things more complicated if you have the time.

This is also good for beginners to leave their armchairs and start doing something and finishing it, and build confidence and a love to do manual things, not just theory.

Any better way for this recipe will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Since I still had some remaining fresh plants, I decided to do also a cream.

Take fresh plant, and chop it small.

Melt coconut oil in a pan, and when it's hot, mix in the chopped plant.
Don't let the oil boil, just a little hot, and mix well the plant with the oil.
Now put everything in a glass jar as before, covered with a plastic sheet and a cap.
Leave this in a dark room for 14 days.
Now it's ready to be applied on the skin.

For some reason, I can't attach photos, but the instructions are simple and clear I think.

I know there are 100 better ways to do this.

I am learning to appreciate the simple approach too; though I often start something simple and over complicate it. (probably from lack of genuine need for the resultant healing.)
I would love to provide effective elixirs on an individual basis but it is something I wouldn't advertise (too newb)
I have made some basic elixirs for loved ones; peppermint, dandelion, clover, stinging nettle.. more as a gift because I had excess.
I really like what you are doing here; just because its simple doesn't mean it won't provide a benefit!
I mean tea has been used as a medicine forever, because.. it works. The most basic extraction.

Perhaps not alchemic, but every step lifts us a little higher.

Holy, 4 I's in a column. Perhaps something to work on.

Thanks JR,

Sometimes simpler does not mean it's not working.

If you want more complex preparation, it's up to you and your time and resources.

I think alchemy started as a simple healing tool, and then evolved more and more.
