So I figured I'd hit the ground running for my first actual post, I need some help with information that's fairly hard to track down specifics on without knowing where to look.

Agrippa's books help with an encyclopedic approach to understanding the significance of numbers, what element or planet something belongs to, and how to deal with echeneis at sea.

I need help to fill in the gaps on a new sigil for Steel

What I know already;
Centrepiece: Symbol of Steel
Body/Vessel: Triangle for Fire
Structure: 3 symbols upon the triangle for charcoal, iron, and elemental fire encircled.

Related celestial bodies: Mars for war, masculinity, aggression.

What I don't know:
other planets, symbols, combinations, numbers, or shapes related to war/bloodshed/aggression/destruction that would expand upon this current base I have.

I've made previous sigils in the past and they're all for a grand plan of marking myself ritualistically to be closer to my work physically and mentally, this particular sigil will be used on my right wrist as part of a 3 stage process telling the story of the 'hand of aggression' while the opposite, my left wrist, will tell the story of the 'hand of mending'

Here's an example of my previous work 'Primarch Vitae'

This is a circle I created for the purpose of deep meditation around self healing, self realisation, and self exploration. It utilises the 4 elements in a counter-clockwise rotation that goes in accordance to the creation of the soul and body, and the prima tria (salt/corpus, sulphur/spiritus, mercury/animus) inside the symbol for vitae.

Behind is the conjoinment of elements in a 6 pointed star, and an 8 pointed star to symbolize refinement of chaos by being encase in order (the second outer circle)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hi,

You can try to read The Magus vol 1 by Barrett Francis, it gives a lot of info about making talismans and sigils, I think it's close to what you need.

You can try also to look into Solomon's The greater and lesser keys.

Maybe some other members can give you a more exact resource for you.

That is pretty neat. It looks like it just randomly generates them though rather than properly following the rose cross method. I'm making hermetic cartography akin to David Chaim Smith though. https://www.davidchaimsmith.com/ have a look, it's fascinating stuff! I have 4 of his books waiting to be read after I get through some other material.

Here's an example of my previous work 'Primarch Vitae'

Wow, quite impressive artistry! I like the three-dimensionality of the Primarch Vitae.

What I know already;

The first few things which come to mind, for me:

-Swords (as in the weapons, but also as in the suit of Tarot)

-Vulcan, the Roman god of metalworking and forges, volcanoes and fire. Or perhaps a similar god from a different religion

-Victory and Defense (victory in battle or steel armour maybe? a shield?)

-Mars, the planet of war, is given the number 5 in some systems.


That's all I can think of for now. Interesting project you have going on!

I'm mostly looking to hermetic philosophy and elemental. No gods of any kind involved in this work I'm afraid, as it's intended as both symbolic and catalytic uses.

Swords would be useful, but hence the purpose of using steel blankets that term as it's what we've come to always use.

The number 5 in accordance to mars would be useful. What I primarily need is something that just breaks down war into all it's inclusive factors and symbology centred around steel as the main icon of war. it has to represent destruction, bloodshed, aggression. the more powerful I make the sigil, the more meaningful it will make any gestures of good faith I make with my right arm. that's why we shake with the right hand, it represents using the weapon hand to make peace. when I make my sigil for compassion it will hopefully have the same effect, any act or gesture of aggression will be just as significant.

everything in the end result will flow, and it will be my 'skin chart' shall we say, for when I meditate and focus upon each and every point following their paths to my nape. saturn is my governing body and capricorn my sign, so transformation and the adaptability of water is something I really take into my being so it's all interconnected.



alchemical symbols for the minerals, chemicals, elements, and so on that go into the creation of steel or represents something war-like would be greatly appreciated
