It's a delicate weave,
This grid and me.
Mein Gott the clever company.

In service to whom I choose,
Should I choose you?

Alchemy and myth,
Creation and splifs..

Its music and revealing,
I love this feeling.

I love the friendship.

Cranky Old Man

This was a recent post I found on facebook. A wonderful poem if you have not heard it before...or even if you have :)

old-man-marley.gif

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too!

All is One and One is None,
Two is Three and Tree is One
One and Two and Three and Four

Hi Androgynus :) Had you considered when you wrote this poem that the alchemical symbol for Jupiter holds the numbers '1,2,3, and 4'? The symbol looks very similar to a 4 as a whole, but when observed in it parts- the four is composed of a 2 and a 1, and when you add 2 and 1 together you get 3. had you noticed this?

we hesitate
when we see that there are no footprints before us
but i beg you to take a step
do it for you; do it for the salvation of all existence
leave a mark on this machine
your life is your autograph in infinity
live like you make a difference
for if you don't then nothing means nothing
and everything means everything
and love means nothing and everything
and i can't find myself without you
but i have found myself
so you must be here too
in the secret garden
where dreams come true
for those who know how to dream
and nightmares for those who've forgotten

Ritual for Fox with Grim Love

Damn Fox write well. All that noise and chatter come out clean. Come out looking like something the tricksters need.

Grandmother's bell! Make-shift trumpet sound! Red Mountain at the Golden Hour! Fire! Fire! Fire!

"Tonight you'll hear it two planets away." R said indifferently as we arrive at the top of Red Mountain. We're hopped up on joy at the end of a long work-week, and giddily agree. Again the bell, again the trumpets, again making way for things to burn.

The tools of the trade: Fox Goggles so we can see, Tobacco for the make-shift shamans, Peacock Hat for R and D. The Frying Pan and Zine -- once clean, set in the center of our company. Red Mountain at the Golden Hour. Kerosene.

We begin with more bells, the Circle, and the Welcoming of Benevolence in all directions. Tonight is the presentation of Art. Tonight is the Ritual for Fox, and he reads from Grim Love.
The Words are spoke and our anticipation mounts. Where's that Fire we like?
Fox breaks out the matches and D the Kerosene. We saturate the Zine. We light the match and. . . it goes out from a slight wind. Damn tricksters. We light another match and this time welcome the Fire!

The Zine burns for a good half hour. Potent words. We stand in silence the whole time.
SB finds a symbol and points it out, says no water can ever touch this now.
More Tobacco.
Fox and D take up the Frying Pan and walk the circle, smudging Red Mountain.
"We thought it was nice before, but now it's sacred ground."
The ashes are scattered and the unburnt pages kept.
The Ritual is finished, everyone in attendance is thanked.

R was right. Venus and Jupiter are now shining in the West, catching our attention above the twilight.

thinking of a master plan
i think faster than
a flux capacitor can
i'm in the future
i'm in your computer
tutor through time
i'm the vine spreading
ready your mind
divine wedding
shedding layers
surveyor of dimensions
prayer setting intention
suspension on the cross but not lost
exhaust the search
perched* root first in vacancy
it's taken me ages
just to turn a few pages of history
the mystery open to sages
placed before my gazing eyes
what lies inside is more amazing
than i could verbalize
what transpires
if i externalize this inferno?
eternal fire!
same flame, different pyre
rising higher as summer retreats
with winged feet
move to the beat of a different drummer
celebrate the newcomer
heaven awaits
with open gates
for the pearl of great price
my advice is
to sell all your vices for that One salve
so all you have becomes priceless
via negativa
the panacea suffices

A dark poem for love

Lets ride in the night,
come take the wings of darkness
be my queen forever in the abyss of abomination.
Crawling through the living dead,
we rise like the black sun
in the night to shine so bright.
Everyday from struggle we find peace,
a strong happiness, enough to destroy the weak.
See through my eyes,
my eviles queen breath the fiery air,
burn my heart, light my desire.
Drink the blood of the dragon,
know my magical eyes,
see the world up close from a far.

If you want what visible reality
can give, you're an employee.
If you want the unseen world,
you're not living your truth.
Both wishes are foolish,
but you'll be forgiven for forgetting
that what you really want is
love's confusing joy.

What misery is for the poet
Never to be heard, but desirous of sound.

The heartbeat and the rhythm of the word,
Spoken true, is more to him than it is to you.

The air is as heavy or as light as we choose.

once upon a time i lived in a shoe,
then one day it rained and turned my shoe blue,
it became mouldy and wet and smelt like poo,
"ohhh noo, ohhh noo" i said i was so ever confused,
"what is happening to my beautiful shoe"?
i ran outside to get an outside view,
but when i looked back "My Goodness IT GREW"!
into an oddly shaped shape i must presume
my mind wondered, startled, gasped and feud,
as i approached the odd shape steps at a few,
and as i got closer " I nkow, I NKEW"
that my shoe bloomed into a magical mushroom!!

I can see the sun shining behind your eyes,
Behind your mind,
Continually keeping time.

I can hear the words you speak so sweetly in my ears:
"Thank you for looking between."

There's nothing like this dream!
This potential-reality-machine!

But now the tone changes,
Becomes slightly more deranged and
Quickens the steps towards the next process --
Another injection of venom.

I never know how to end poetry..

The best poetry I've read presents a strange combination.

There's the play of the creative intellect
And the force of an undefinable urge.
The two resonate with one another.

And I don't even care if they rhyme.

Rumi was a master at this.
His Friend the progenitor.
Their interaction an expression of the Divine!

You keep coming back
To my mind.

You keep reminding me of the time
We stripped down and dipped skinny.

Back then it wasn't so bad.

But now? Well, now I keep running circles
When I shouldn't be running at all.

Back then I thought I knew
What I was up to.

Now I know even more
What I'm up to.

And I still think
You keep coming back.

THE SECOND COMING

William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

First becomes a stirring
Followed by my murmuring your name.

I called you Human.

Enter The Gentleman on your left
Please ignore his cleft tooth

As it does not determine the intricacies of His fame.

Each and every maneuver
Your voice, your eyes, your speaking.
These are the things He finds so pleasing.

It should be Love you're seeking.

Break now with the rhythm but keep the rhyme.
Break now with the anthem to keep the time.

...I'm sure there's more lyrics somewhere

I never knew that woman in blue,
Russian by birth with daughters.

Until a man in tan with the Sun walked by,
And found the extent of her mirth.

The Moon was new and the people quite few
When she passed from this life to the next.

She went with a whimper as her heart grew thinner,
And the cold of her life made her rest.

They say Death transmutes
And that life is for use
And this woman in blue was an expert.

With precision and care she crafted her heirs,
Her daughters and grandaughters and sons.

But in such short a time, this woman in rhyme
Met a man from the Sun with blonde hair.

This man knew his name and wanted the fame
But instead just decided to shine.

This man from the Earth
With precision and girth
Was able to pursue her the Time.

And now all that's left
Is the best of the best
The daughters and grandaughters and sons.

May her soul rest in peace, and may she be forever renewed and her name resound. Cheers.

My god girl, the way you move
Influences men into poverty.

The words you speak are twisted,
And therefore twist.

I'd like to see you at your best.

I remember a Rumi poem about the Moon,
He kept the audience in awe
Over splitting the Moon in half with one throw.

I found the perfect rock for you --
If you don't mind.

With the Moon in view
I would stroke the spine
And find you out

There's a fire, burns inside
Burns inside out
The turning Earth,
The Sun which burns
Is the woman we know without

Now the Moon in view
Splits the Earth in two
And from here the Sun shines out.

Hi, I hope everyone has been well here at the forums. I apologize for my lack of contribution here over the last few years, I've been working on a lot of personal issues. Have recently relocated again, been through a few different jobs, and taking college courses. Much of my Time has been invested in trying to move Forward with my life and I had to take a bit of a break from my Alchemical Works for a while even though some of what I began years ago seems to continue to Evolve. Anyway hopefully once I begin feeling motivated towards continuing my Work again, I will have more Insight to share with you All.

A few days ago I finally found the inspiration to continue working on my Poem/Song that I had shared the first portion of here a few years back. I decided to record what I've completed thus far a few minutes ago, and thought I'd share it here first since I owe The Forums and its members for help along my Path as I was getting started. Anyway here's an unedited recording of what I've come up with up until now. As I stated before, eventually I intend to record this to a musical track and potentially have other Artists featured as well. For now, I will share what I have though this may continue to Evolve more with Time... Thanks to Alchemy Forums and it Members for providing us with a platform to Learn and Grow as well as a place to Share what we Learn as we Grow.

Here is the original first verse, I will share the rest that I've completed along with a video of me reciting it below.

So I've realized recently that I've had a self-imposed writer's block since about 2006-2007, which is around the last time that I've completed any form of poetic composition. A few years ago I purchased a beat from a highly-respected local Chicago music DJ/producer in the hopes that it would spark in me some form of creativity and motivation towards writing again, but the block seemed to continue regardless of my efforts to motivate myself. So about a year ago I worked out a deal with one of my favorite hip-hop artists (hint: I've posted a lot of his music here) to get on the track with me, and have been waiting for the right moment when the inspiration would hit me to actually write something again myself..

I had almost given up on my 'song that never was' until yesterday. I had been devoting all of my time the last few days to laboring in my lab, when all of the sudden the inspiration hit me. I wrote my portion of the song as a form of meditation as I practiced my practical work. Each of the four small sections of the verse are intended to represent a phase in the alchemical cycle. This is just my verse, the other artist(who I mentioned earlier) has also completed their contribution and there's room for at least 2 other artists/elements(4 total with the 5th representing the beat) on this piece. Once the track's completed I'll share it here, it may continue to evolve further before it's recorded but this is what I have so far:

The Lapis:

Past the Blackest opaque, a storm's raging along,
Path's cast in darkness, the king's uncaging his pawn,
Life's design to Find then Shine Divine Light, as the Rings bring the dawn,
From Nothing bursts Life, Spiritus birthed in this song!

Emerald notes devote vitality, while expanding the growth,
insomniac attacks 'Agent Smith's' through their cloak,
lost in Pan's forest, traverse this Labyrinth of Oak,
Old-Tree springs stream of consciousness, through it's roots floats a boat

Sailing waves of realization, ascend Himalayan White-tipped peaks,
Concentric-circles symbolize the Bulls-eye that he seeks,
Crown of Thorns an Antenna, Luna's reflecting her own seed,
Dove's Albedo purity stained Red, the pelican must feed

Scarlet drops of sulfur's Soul, complete the cycle to behold,
Blazing ashes - flaming feathers, sparking secrets once untold,
Gazing the Pool of Self-Reflection along this lost uncharted road,
The Fool's fate's to find perfection, in your vile rejected Stone..

Photonic particles prancing, enhancing prismatic Dew-Drops,
Unite polarities, rhythmic dancing, singular-Sight, Sees the cyclops.

Eyes on The Matter at hand, observing the moment 'till Time stops,
A brief pause, period of rest, Ascending the Pinnacle, Pyramid of Cheops.

Distill Truth from fiction, refracting lenses, dispel obscurities,
Food for thought, wheat from chaff, Transformation of impurities.

Benevolent thoughts, flowing streams, Torches Lit with Vulcan's Fury.
Irrelevant lies, blindfolding Justice, cross-examine Judge and Jury.

Colors blend, spectral splashes, Transmits Knowledge through the Masses,
Love Transforms, a whip that lashes, Sparks above The Phoenix ashes.

Traverse the Spheres, into then Past them, Movement Rotates circular fashion,
Whirlpools whirling, slow and fast then, a center nebula's Divine reaction.

Compassion crying so moist the Sky bends, Salt Ascends the space of eyelids,
Gaia's Breath, tears of Fire, flutes sing whispers, Vivified violins.

None is some, not All is One, the Ball is Square while Ground is Air,
The Bird of Truth, Now Thrice has Come.

An Offering for those who Listen and a Reminder to my Self,
Books from the Akasha that will Not fit on a shelf.

The most humble song ever sung, dispensing Jewels but not for wealth,
A Genius mumble, Words of Wisdom, Patients Now in Perfect Health.

Foolish Magicians, Men Hang with Stars, The Lovers of Earth's tarot cards are dealt,
Vibrations resounding through the Ethers, Transmuting Spirit of Sound is felt.

Need Time for Space within Illusion,
Indeed Wheels are Real, spin-cycles of confusion.

Watches observe unannounced intrusion,
Fixed and Volatile exist in Fusion.

Opalescent Goddess Painting Pigments,
Scarlet Prince imagination figments.

Brush and Canvass form a Union, Sky and Earth with Men and Women,
Prophetic Poetry but Who can See them.

Angels tipping Halos, direction of a Demon,
Is there Hope for Change, refusing to Heal or Free them?

To Awaken from a Slumber, most prefer a Reason,
Gigantic Glaciers boiling, Vesuvius Volcanoes freezing.

Swine feeding Pearls, Kings unclothen, fashionable Freedom,
Vision-Universal, Now Eternal, Exists in Every Season.

Video: (mods, I've yet to figure out how to properly post a video so if you may be able to help, it would be much appreciated.. thanks)

(Thanks for your help with the posting of the video Andro :),though for some reason when Viewed from my phone the video doesn't appear, so please also leave the link below for viewing from phone, thanks)
