I was unable to find another thread for posting personal dreams for interpretations from our peers. This thread is for anyone who would like to posts dreams that they find significant, and that they would like to have a closer look at. If another thread like this already exists, then mods please move my post to the appropriate thread.

I'll start with a couple of recent dreams I've had concerning the state of 'Hip-Hop'. The first dream I had along these lines was over a month or two ago. I was watching a news report that "RZA"(actor, producer, and founding member of Wu-Tang Clan and Gravediggaz) was tragically ran-over by his own tour bus.

Then just a couple of nights ago I had a dream, that was also in the form of a special bulletin, stating that 'rappers' need to stop snitching while incarcerated.. Then the same person giving the bullentin announced that it was "time to put 'Hip-Hop' back into 'the boat', and to put 'the boat' back onto Hip-Hop"...

Interpretations are welcomed and appreciated :)

And to quote Royce Da 5'9', it appears that 'hip-hop' is an analogy for something else:

[Chorus - Royce Da 5'9"]
HIP HOP! is everything around you
[scratched] - "Come alive y'all"
Back to the voice, of today
[scratched] - "It's all in the game"
What's realer than - HIP HOP!
I know my streets, I know my sounds
Y'all know my beats, how I get down
I take my steps, and leaps and bounds
Nigga it's - HIP HOP!

and to also quote from "Dead Prez":

It's bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip
It's bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip hop

Hi there,

tonight I had quite a nice dream I wanted to share. In my introduction I wrote about ambra (or ambergris), cause it is part of my nick name in this forum. This night a black panther lady visited me (black panthers come by now and then in my dreams, not very often, but we are friends). She had three babies who played in a tree nearby (the tree just looked like the trees look right now here in Germany, no leaves on it). I caressed the panther lady for a while. Then I opened a small vial with an alcoholic extract of ambergris. She sniffed the sweet scent and somehow told me (without talking) she wanted to have it in her fur. So I put a few drops of it on my fingers and ran them through her fur, gently massaging the fragrance in. Then she jumped up and sprinted away through the ripe wheat fields. She stopped for a short glance back to me and I waved to her. Her babies still played in the tree, so I was sure she would come back later.

Actually I am not asking for an interpretation, but if you have ideas and would like to share them, you are welcome. :) It was just wonderful to have the black panther with me. At first I was a little surprised, that she is connected to my interest in alchemy, but it feels right.

Very alchemical dream.
The she-panther represents the archetypical black Madonna, Isis, aso, who is very often used in alchemical literature as a symbol for a chtonic matter, that needs to get a special treatment with a substance that is more volatile and represented by the extract you put into her fur.

Though the extract comes from whales the name stems from amber, which is interestingly enough also called electron and looking like/compared with gold. Some modern alchemists say the agens (said liquid) can be "extracted" from electron clouds. Usually "Gold" is also one of the most common and classic Decknames.

The black Madonna (you did not mention a male, so I stick with the symbolic virgin) needs to be distilled (made volatile) to get the three principles Mercury, Sulfur and Salt that in your dream are represented by the three young ones that are sitting in the tree (oak most likely) and now represent the old chaldean godess Hekate with her three heads (a pendant of the male three-headed Baphomet).

When you do it right, the black matter will disappear, therefore the panther ran away. But you will be rewarded with a good harvest that is why she ran to the ripe wheat field.

The three young ones stay for you to think more about the three alchemical principles in the meantime.

Either that, or the dream says you will catch the Corona-Virus sooner or later ;)

lol, so maybe I should prepare and buy food and all the stuff I need for 10 days. - People are actually doing this where I live. ;)

Thank you so much for your alchemical view on the dream, you are awesome! It feels like a little present somehow, very charming. I hope I will have time to answer in detail at weekend. :)

Hello Florius,

here my thoughts about the dream and your ideas on it. :)

The dream didn't feel like a very archetypal dream, it was more of the individual kind. But I still would say the picture of the black Madonna/Isis/Ishtar/Astarte is valid here in a way.

For me the panther lady reminds me of being more sensuous and lascivious when going deeper into Alchemy (I know the dream is about my occupation with Alchemy because of the symbols of the dreams I had before) and being more relaxed (because of the massage, very important for me! *lol*). It is about feeling the body more intensely.

Wearing a perfume is very sensual too. All perfumes surround you in a more or less intense aura and are very present for you for a good while. Fragrances activate some old parts of the brain, evoking strong feelings and often memories. So it is both, volatile regarding its nature as an essential oil (solved in alcohol) and the dreams, feelings, memories and thoughts, it evokes - on the other hand very bodily regarding the sensuality, the feeling of lolling like a lazy feline. To say it in the symbols of the dreams, this perfume surrounds and embraces you like a warm, sweet, sensuous fur.

So the dream is talking about being in a relaxed, lascivious state of feeling the body and at the same time being in dreams, thoughts and imaginations. Then you will be rewarded with a good harvest, which is full of joy and playful jollity - meaning in the context of learning more about Alchemy, having findings and insights.

The three babies I understood as my three projects which are connected to this: learning about Alchemy, the novel about Alchemy and the alchemical novel. (By the way, the tree was a pretty young tree, maybe 3 or 4 meters high. The dream didn't say anything about what kind of tree it was. It was ... just a tree ;) ).

Alrighty, now let's take a look at the black Isis as a symbol for chtonic matter. This symbol is very earthy and heavy, it is about birth, death and motherhood, and has of course a sexual note. It draws me into the deep. Making this more volatile and mingling in the bright golden electricity of ἤλεκτρον changes this feeling into a kind of ecstatic trance, which floods both body and mind. This feeling is different to the state I described before. Maybe this trance is a continuation of the more lascivious feeling. ;)

The black Madonna (... so I stick with the symbolic virgin)

naw, this panther lady is not a virgin for sure! *lol*

needs to be distilled (made volatile) to get the three principles Mercury, Sulfur and Salt that in your dream are represented by the three young ones that are sitting in the tree (oak most likely) and now represent the old chaldean godess Hekate with her three heads (a pendant of the male three-headed Baphomet).

With Hekate I agree, if you look at it this way. Where is the distillation in the dream? The 'making more volatile' is not made through a distillation, but through mixing things and getting something new. And I don't see any hint for Mercury, Sulfur and Salt as the three babies. They didn't have any attributes, so we have as symbols 'babies', which often means 'new projects', and 'three', which can mean a lot (three wishes, three riddles, three tests of courage and so on, or mother, father, baby). And yet ...

The three young ones stay for you to think more about the three alchemical principles in the meantime.

Maybe you are still right. :) I have contemplated about this dream a lot yesterday, espacially about the 'three'. Actually I didn't tell all details of the dream, because I posted it in the feeling of opening up my windows, letting in the air of the forum and chatting a little bit. I didn't expect an interpretation. Well, you answered and I had a lot to think.

Although the dream said, that in the vial was the extract of ambergris, it didn't smell like ambergris. In my introduction to the forum I explained my nick name a little bit: the deep shadows of sun, moon and earth, the scents of ambergris and amber. Three celestial bodies, but only two scents? And now in this dream a third fragrance? Let's see, here is what I read out of some former dreams which inspired me to my nick name:

1 - ambergris, symoblizes the scent of the moon and the salty sea
2 - amber (mixture of labdanum, styrax, vanilla, benzoe, etc.), symbolizes the scent of the sun and the sweet earth
and now 3 - soapy rose (this was the scent of the fragrance in my dream), symbolizes (well, which one remains?) the planet earth and ???

Some of my thoughts: black panther = umbra, deep shadow

salty sea = lye, sweet earth (as essence of the sun) = oil, mix it together and you get soap :)

moon = dreams, thoughts, feelings, imaginations, inner senses
sun = feeling the body, eroticism, lasciviousness, sensuality, external senses
earth = joining both and flowing into recognitions and insights (hopefully ;) )

Yeah, that's my 'alchemical' view on the dream ...

Hi!

It's a distillation because the three baby panthers climbed the tree.

Often the most interesting stuff remains in the alembic head which looks like the upper part of the tree.

I still would also consider other possibilities and would not be too sure here ;)

Hi Florius,

I did consider other possibilities and I am sure. :p

Also the process of a distillation I still don't see here. The babies were there from the beginning, there wasn't shown any process, that they were a kind of result of massaging scent into the fur nor of the panther running into the feelds. I maybe understand where you're coming from, I think you see the whole dream as the result of a distillation (which isn't actually shown). Well, it's alright, you can look at it this way. It doesn't change my view on the dream though.

Dreams are very precise in what they do. Of course there are many different ways of looking at them and understanding them. But I don't dress them with clothes which don't fit! :)
