Nice find @Awani

A fun aggregation of some info re: ancient possibilities of geopolymers, waterglass, etc.

When I was last down that rabbit hole I found this recipe inspiring:

The author believes that that the Egyptians melted tons of sodium carbonate to "cut" the rocks.

I’m gonna have him on my podcast. As soon as I stumbled on that page I sent an invite.

Let me know if I should ask anything.

I’d be curious if he has conducted any noteworthy experiments cladding a geopolymer with Electrum (Au + Ag). Also whether he’s experimented with doping mixes to promote electrical conductivity / resistivity.

Link to the podcast? Thanks.

Thanks Awani for this link it has been such an awesome read and I can't wait for your podcast on this topic. So cool and relatively simple, it gives me some great ideas for projects to work on. It makes so much sense logically. Lightbulb moment!

Just talked to this dude. It all makes sense. Ancient people simply cast shit. Nothing magic or alien about it.

The author believes that that the Egyptians melted tons of sodium carbonate to "cut" the rocks.

This required tons of trees which is why the people died out on Easter Island and why perhaps there are few trees in Egypt.

That makes tons of sense. The amount of wood needed to work the stone in that fashion would have used up all the trees easily.

I have been mulling this over, I want to try the traditional way starting a fire over a pile of baking soda, on a piece of granite. I imagine the heat will expel the excess co2 and turn to washing soda from the heat of the fire, so I can skip putting the baking soda in the oven for 20 minutes. I am also thinking a blowtorch will do the trick. I am still psyched for your pod cast on this topic, I can't wait! Your channel is amazing by the way, great job.

Thanks. I will drop it as soon as I can. His English not the best, takes a little time to get used to.

This was so good, thank you. I was blown away. I am trying to replace the wire in my piezo starter for my torch, when its back in action I plan to start going to boulders and etching my graffiti for the future aeons. This is next level knowledge. I love your history of alchemy, have listened to it twice now. I know who I am going to have in my ear all this season as I trudge away pulling weeds. Your podcast is epic.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

You should watch the History of Alchemy on YouTube. Always nice with visuals.

I finally figured out the problem with my torch, the piezo electric starter mechanism stopped producing spark, so I bought a electric lighter and used the sparker to replace the torch starter it worked like a breeze. I hope to carve my name in stone after work tomorrow. If this works, I will have a new business carving into stone. Thanks a million, truly next level info.

Didn’t realize Quartz organizes itself into a helical pattern. Other neat findings discussed as well.

Eureka! Twenty minutes boiling test proves that my very first, bad quality, full-of-bubbles, cheating-with-blowtorch artificial granite is indeed waterproof! So weatherproof! The very first artificial granite in 5000 years! Some (=a lot) fine tuning is still needed, namely to skip the cheating with blowtorch, but anyway, it’s a big step forward! (Blowtorch turned amorphous SiO2 to a kind of quartz I think, that’s why it is strong af) (It is acid and alkali proof by default, that’s not a question) - source

I report I had no success in this endeavor but I still hold my hope for such a technology. I personally used the natron and it was a bit easier than a chisel but not by much.

I have been on X and a lot of people are doing some amazing stuff with this type of work. I am going to try some other experiments when I get some water glass.

A lot of info has been updated on the site as well, from what I gather

This happened a few years ago, and the creator of the Natron Theory wants to do a follow-up. He wants to walk through his lab notebook process in a "kitchen-to-stone" recipe, from the ingredients to the finished results.

Please post below any questions you might have that you would like me to ask.

I remember listening to this episode when you first released it. I think there is a great likelihood that geopolymers were used in the past. When you see some of the ancient 'masonry' in South America you know it's a different technology to what we use today.

As an aside, I also find the idea of using 'molten' salts as a type of solvent to have some interesting parallels with alchemy.

I will give this some thought and post any questions when I have time.

EDIT: maybe this was covered last time and I forget but I do wonder why and how this information was lost.
