Unions are evil scum and they should all be destroyed. Socialism is also evil.

Liberty or death.
No worries. Different points of view and differing opinions are great so long as people can discuss their perspectives cleanly!

Whatever you calculate, people are not poorer than they were. Even if it's true that were over the peak, it's due to inherent mistakesin capitalism. Not due to some tiny into reality calculated differences. Obvious that you want to believe it.
Self-reflect, Mark, self reflect!
People are de-facto poorer than they were just 50 years ago. Wealth is land, housing, and food production. The government has taxed and persecuted self-ownership of all three so that the individual is increasingly deprived of any asset that's not paper, digital, or owned/highly-regulated by some government institution. They literally have given people noise-boxes with the circus inside and the bread is ever-increasingly poisoned. Capitalism works when it's tied to functionally limited supplies of commodities, assets, and services, and isn't subject to book-cooking by bankers and government bureaucrats. That said, communism, fascism, and capitalism are all varying systems used by rotheschildes and other scum that end up with the same results: individuals have no assets and they have to cowtow to larger groups. In fact, no system can work when someone can arbitrarily control your assets by changing numbers on a screen. The manipulation of currency and asset control is not exclusive to this or that system. It's a mechanism of control that's used by ALL economic systems.

The federal reserve was introduced in 1913 along with the fractional banking system. The objectors to the federal reserve actually went down with the Titanic the year before in 1912.
The federal reserve is the biggest fraud in the history of human kind. Basically a group of wealthy industrialists printed money and lent it to a nation. But the return payments from the nation back to the federal reserve had to be in gold, silver or real estate. The federal reserve didn't want back the useless paper money it had printed in the first place - they actually wanted real things in return.
The federal reserve was actually swapping useless paper money with real gold and real estate while a nation stood and watched and the world has been suffering ever since.

Woodrow Wilson: How do we strip a nation of its real physical wealth without it noticing?
Carter Glass: You convince the nation that little pieces of paper with numbers written upon them have the same physical value as pure gold bars then you swap the paper for gold bars.
Woodrow Wilson: They won't fall for it.
Carter Glass: Watch this space.

Bitcoin was good for a while - it still may be, I don't follow it anymore. We decided to pivot to owning land instead. I've mentioned this in the past - we held for over a decade. Its the single most impactful financial decision I had ever done, but eventually the time came when seeing numbers go up on a screen ceased to be meaningful, because either way I was still working for someone else, still living in a city, still running on the treadmill, running the rat maze, etc. The time came to use what was there for a major pivot.

Lots of good hedges, some though require startup money, which many do not have. With bitcoin you can buy small amounts, but you can do the same as well with precious metals, or any commodity really. It's all about risk appetite.

The absolute simplest hedges are generally government bonds - you basically won't lose purchasing power, but you may not gain any either. I now prefer globally diversified broad market index funds. "Boomer Investing", aka "get rich slow scheme". All done through legal forms of tax shelters (investment & retirement account types). Sure, the whole global economy may collapse, and my funds would become worthless, but in such a scenario most forms of currency are also worthless, so it's a wash.

If you can grow your own food, it no longer matter how much they charge for a tomato at the grocery store.

Land is good.
When financial markets collapse and the banking system has squeezed every single penny out everyone including bitcoin, the only thing left in this world with any intrinsic value will be the very ground on which we walk and the gold on which all markets were originally founded.
The gold has gone, no one buys it high and sells it cheap otherwise you become destroyed by the same system which collapses markets and takes your wealth.
Buy land and sit on it.

I've thought of buying scrap lower carat gold, refining it, and selling it. Everyone here though wants to sell their scrap gold for 2x its melt value though, the whole thing is already oversaturated. I got a bit of gold from panning, mostly flour gold though. It's pretty cheap to get a claim here and start mining with a bit of equipment. A few thousand $$$ (Canadian dollars) is enough to get your started with the simple stuff if you are hand shoveling and using a sluice and water pump, but really you want at least a mini excavator to save time. There is no "public panning" where I am though, unless you do it illegally and make sure you don't get caught. The government has set up a few spots for "public panning", but they are tiny and not in good areas and it's basically a joke.

Last place I lived there was public panning in the province - would also get a ton of magnetite and garnet while panning, but no nuggets there, just flour gold.

The only use I'd have for gold is to work with it alchemically, i.e. gold that has never been previously refined. You can buy nuggets off people, but those carry a much higher value than their melt value.

This was about fiat and inflation more than BTC. There has been some ignorant comments on fiat so far in this thread. The mind virus is strong.
The FIAT system and the fractional banking system as far as I'm concerned started its life with Woodrow Wilson in 1913.
First you strip a nation of its true wealth then you introduce a currency with no gold standard behind it.
The fractional banking system was born out of this. Banks lending out money way past what was in its coffers was part of the FIAT system.
The inflation system was simply a method of controlling the people inside the FIAT. If you are to avoid what happened in Germany after WW1 when catastrophic hyperinflation destroyed their economy, you must at all cost BALANCE how much money you print with the rate at which people are spending it.
The FIAT system is not immune from catastrophic hyperinflation as we saw during Covid but what is it aware of is how you can control it with the cost of borrowing or the interest rates.

The only intrinsic wealth that is part of the FIAT system is real estate and there has been a change in the FIAT system over the past 40 years.
The biggest changes:-
Banks used to circulate properties through the FIAT system as if they were the same useless pieces of paper the FIAT uses to operate its system. That changed is the US with the collapse of the US motor industry. Now US banks are sitting on vast swathes of property which they have no intention of passing back through the system. This has also happened in the UK where ASDA, Tesco and other huge supermarket chains are sat on massive swathes of property and real estate with no intention of recirculating those properties through the FIAT.
The US is the leading proponent of the FIAT system and any country that fails to comply is made an enemy of. Prime example was Russia. After 1989 Russia came into the western banking system as planned by the US but over time the Russian Olegarch's were expelled and Putin took back control of the Russian banking system immediately creating an enemy of the US. Ever since Putin did that, the US has found any which way it can to attack Russia financially. Iraq, Libya, Syria and now Iran were attacked and swallowed up by the FIAT system and the only country's currently not running it are the oil producing nations of the middle east such as Saudi Arabia where oil is currency not useless pieces of paper. BUT....the currency of oil is the US dollar and the US dollar is king of the FIAT system.
All of Europe is financially controlled with no gold or oil standard, just figures on computer screens. When Europe wants more money it just adds another zero to the numbers on those screens. When inflation gets high, it decreases the amount of money on the screens by controlling borrowing. It truly is worthless wealth.

Ban banks from lending money they do not actually have and ban fractional reserve banking. Savings in stocks, ETFs or even in bank accounts actually boosts the economy because the money is used to fund businesses, create jobs and drive innovation. Also if those bans are a reality, the savings increase more in value as well.

Keynesian economics pretends to help "the poor", but the truth is it "keeps them poor".

The fiat-system is a lie and a disease. Only the sick support it.

The biggest problem is the current credit system which has poisoned the whole of the planet.
Here in the UK for example, the FIAT system is part of every single household apart from those of us that wouldn't allow it to dominate our lives. 99.9% of public wealth lives on the knife edge, mortgaged beyond its means, credited beyond its means and once you're in it, you are in for life.
The way they do it? Shiny shit, present them with shiny shit which their neighbours have and they don't and drag them all in head first.
Stay away from the shiny shit syndrome and you won't get dragged in. I saw through it when I first got married and now according to the credit system here I'm a none compliment idiot with zero credit score. They hate me because they keep sending me credit cards and I keep cutting them in two and sending them back. If I see my neighbour with shiny shit, I just laugh and mutter 'dickhead' under my breath. Meanwhile John Doe over the road sees shiny shit and he's in the dealership signing up for even shinier shit.
It's a game and its hard to stay out of.

The game here was rigged from the very beginning. This place was born out of the coal mining industry and owes its existence to mining.
1873 it started here under a industrialist called Bradshaw. The coal mining industry was among the first to invent its own form of currency in the form of mining tokens. They paid some of their employees in tokens which could only be spent in shops and ale houses belonging to mine owners and mill owners. They sold commodities though at extortionate prices involving the use of tokens.
The mines shut in 1985 here and we became a very poor society taking decades to recover but during that time, often on old mining sites, new housing estates started to appear.
Those housing estates were very different from ours, they were 5 and 6 bedroom houses and the people living in them were not from here. This was the introduction of shiny shit syndrome. Those of us without a brain suddenly were impressed by those houses and people and they wanted it badly. Now, even more estates have gone up and the shiny shit syndrome is out of control in and out of those estates.
That's how you do it, you introduce shiny shit and all hell breaks loose.

It's a simple concept.
1. Introduce poverty.
2. Build another 'alternative world' within that poverty and rub their noses in it.
3. Sign on the dotted line and you can have it too.
Game over.

The problem with that of course is they don't actually have or own any money AT ALL.
Since the federal reserve destroyed the concept of having gold bullion to back the wealth of banks, no bank in history has had any real money since 1913, only figures firstly on paper then on computer screens.
If Chase Morgan runs out of money to lend to its customers, the federal reserve sends them a 10 figure number on a computer screen.
Same with Lloyds bank being sent a 10 figure sum from the bank of England on a computer screen.
When inflation goes up, both the federal reserve and the bank of England refuse to send imaginary figures on computers to banks and it cuts public spending because the public is denied credit. LOL there is no money, all the gold went years ago.

When the federal reserve was first invented in 1913 and implemented by president Wilson they governed the banking system from a private enterprise in-cooperated within the federal system. They lent banks useless paper money but in return would only accept mainly gold or real estate.
Within 20 years the federal reserve and its founders had stripped an entire nation of its real wealth and left them playing with imaginary figures and paper money. Good innit?

In 1936, the federal reserve had embezzled so much gold out of the US people, it had to build Fort Knox, a stronghold to hold 13,000 tons of it guarded by the US military.
That gold contrary to popular belief is not owned by the US. It is owned by the private enterprise which founded the federal reserve.

One ton of gold is worth $141,000,000. 141 million dollars.
13,000 ton of gold is worth nearly 2 trillion dollars.
The current US trade deficit is 88 billion and the US could easily dig itself out by selling just a few ton of its own gold but it can't because it doesn't own it and never has.

Modern societies, with its cities, factories, houses, government, and police, are glorified prison work camps. Culture, language, and belief, are a type of prisons for the mind.

The prison industrial complex has many layers. You can break out of one prison to realize it merely exists in a larger one. Some recognize some layers and not others. Some recognize none: "I am free to walk around in my own cage!" they say. "I don't trust what is on the other side, and I refuse to believe anything on the other side exists".

Freedom is relative. Bars are relative. Even the warden and the guards are themselves prisoners of this system. Different rights. Different duties. Different obligations. The chains that shackle are there none the less.
