What is done when we encounter broken links?
I've been hitting a few of those - for example -

Primarily to capture the spirit or vapor released from the cinnabar and circulate it internally, it will be in part, The Philosophical Mercury. It will be what grows into gold, just like in that mercury transmutation by acetic acid paper described. You can get the same thing by animating mercury with salts from plant materials and even native gold found in the wild, (such as described here: http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?p=3407&highlight=grind+gold+salt#post3407) and other brittle crystalline metals such as stibinite and bismuth and washing under water like the Lunar Phase of Red Lion path describes here http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?t=1234&highlight=grind+gold+salt, but once you melt a metal its spirit is lost, vaporized, back to the air. Or in the case of a dry path of fire, transfered to the scoria.

both these links are broken.

Is this the right way to report it?

If it is in a thread with a YELLOW PREFIX next to thread title you need not worried. Those are threads marked for cleaning.

. - Prefix (yellow square next to thread title)

This is just a way for the moderators to know which threads have been fixed and cleaned from broken links and stuff... if a thread has this "yellow square" next to the thread title then it is a dirty filthy thread. :)

Sometimes they can be restored, unless the image is no longer hosted on an external site (it was taken down by the uploader), or if the image hosting site is down. Same with broken links outside the forum. Many of them are permanently down and there is no web archive for them. It's been many years since this forum came into being and many external sites are no longer online. If that is the case, you may see the note: [Link Broken].
