This is a Phoenix-thread from the old site created by taceyoto.

If you want to discuss films that are metaphorically alchemical go here. This thread is about straight up alchemy videos.

Anyone know where one might some some interesting alchemical videos or movies?

Heh, there might be a rare few out there, but most of the alchemical knowledge you seek will only be found in alchemical texts.

I moved this here from practical since it is more general... (a video doesn't have to be practical). Also I re-titled the thread so it will be easier to locate if searched for... we need one of these anyway.

There are 7 more parts... just search for them!

Kind of alchemical I guess... lyrically anyway!

Here's a short related video I found

It's about ORMEs (Orbital Re-arranged Monatomic Elements), not sure of the veracity of the technique, someone more knowledgeable about Practical Alchemy would need to comment on that.. and I'm not sure that you can actually levitate with it

You may need an account at Veoh, Firefox and Veoh player (freeware) to view this video.

Note: Veoh SUCKS :!: It discriminates against almost all nationalities and bans them from using their service. Currently most people in the world cannot access Veoh by conventional means; over 160 countries are discriminated and banned from using their service. If you're living in a country that they discriminate you'll need an application that protects your internet identity, such as "Tor". A documentary tribute to the spagyrical book sharing the same title...

Wow, this is cool. I havent seen this video yet, though I did download it. I had a nagging memory of this title and went to my bookshelves and I found a copy. I had picked this up several months ago from a used book store, as a gift for my girlfriend and also fore me.

While not exclusive to alchemy, the films of Alejandro Jodorowsky, and Matthew Barney have always been interesting if not extraordinary. Often surreal, ridiculous, or even disturbing they use much in the way of esoterica throughout their films.

Luxor Media is coming out with a documentary film "Alchemy - Sacred Secrets Revealed" Oct. 1st.

I just wanted to send a friendly announcement that the film, Alchemy - Sacred Secrets Revealed was released yesterday on the Solstice.

It is my hope that everyone enjoys the film, and that it helps our cause in The Great Work. We tried to portray as much of the reality of Alchemy's spiritual nature as possible, and withhold from continuing the notion of the Alchemist as benighted proto-chemist.

Please understand it is not my intention to be seen as advertising, but simply to let everyone know in case they wanted to see the film.

Regards,

Trismegistus / Luxor

Jean Dubuis

Hi everybody!

Although this thread has been somewhat dormant for a while, I thought I would throw this in as it is never too late to add more videos, right?! :)

I was doing some searching here the other day on Youtube, trying to find something on various alchemists, and I came across a very short clip featuring Jean Dubuis, whom I have the utmost respect for. Unfortunately I have no idea what documentary this short piece was from, but there are some indications that it could be a documentary on Nicolas Flamel (or maybe Harry Potter and the part Flamel played in the first book and movie). It might even be a History Channel documentary entitled Decoding the Past - The Real Sorcerer's Stone, a documentary that I have unfortunately never seen myself as I have not been able to find it anywhere so far.

If anybody in here is familiar with the documentary this clip with Mr. Dubuis is from, please let me know what the title is so I can try and find the whole video.

I hope you will enjoy this short video.

Now would you look at that...

Right after I posted my previous link to the Jean Dubuis clip I found something very interesting on Youtube - a documentary (that must be pretty new there as I haven't come across it until today) on the Philosopher's Stone. I am just getting ready to watch it myself so I will not say whether it is good or not. I just thought I would give you the links as soon as I found it so you be the judges yourself as to the quality of the contents.

Here you go...

The Philosopher's Stone - The True Story (Part 1-5) [link broken]

I hope you will enjoy it! :)

I had a chance to watch this documentary years ago. I found it to be amusing to say the least, but highly inaccurate. This doesn't surprise me in the least bit. Non-initiates will only be able to pierce so far into the mysteries of alchemy before they hit a veil. This veil protects the secrets of our art from the vulgar unenlightened individuals.

Many say they possess the secrets of our art, but very few are actually correct. This forum actually has a couple of these individuals with true knowledge of the deepest secrets. This is very rare to say the least! :)

I agree. The same was the case with The Philosopher's Stone - The True Story. It was most definitely an entertaining documentary on the Stone and on alchemy in general, but it contained several inaccuracies, even pertaining to something as "mundane" as the meaning of certain common symbolism we use in our texts. But then again... how often does one watch such documentaries to expect more than simple entertainment within the areas of one's passions?! :) If we want to learn something, we pick up a text by an actual alchemist, we study, study, study... and then we get to work in the laboratory! ;)

Oh, and by the way... I found out what documentary the video clip with Jean Dubuis was from. It was from a section on the Philosopher's Stone and Nicolas Flamel in Discovering the Real World of Harry Potter.

This is my website with my videos about alchemy. Sorry about the self promotion but I am not selling anything. I am just promoting Taoist alchemy.

[link broken]

Here's my Youtube channel and I am adding more videos on Taoist alchemy on a pretty regular basis depending on questions people are asking me. http://www.youtube.com/DarinHamel

Actually no, I have not seen it before...that was the most simple and accurate explanation I have ever seen...

I have so much to say and yet nothing at all.

Thank you.

I have seen that one before...If you liked that then go to the Spiritual Science thread.

I cannot account for the accuracy of the information, but it is mind moving.

Andro...I agree with what you said to a point, but I would have to add that it would have to be a place that can sustain the lives that try to fill it; unless they are parasitic and can gain their sustenance from others elsewhere. The car/space analogy for instance only happens in densely over populated places where each is trying to grab what they can irrespective of whether it is right to do so or not. For an example compare the Inuit people of the Arctic regions of Greenland to the North American people of, lets say, Union City, New Jersey.

Do you think Nature would/could fill a void in a way that can not be sustained?

unless they are parasitic and can gain their sustenance from others elsewhere

Is breathing/eating/drinking/prana inhaling parasitical?

The car/space analogy for instance only happens in densely over populated places where each is trying to grab what they can

The car analogy is probably not the best choice, but I wouldn't take it too literally, neither in the context of the film nor in the context of alchemy.

irrespective of whether it is right to do so or not.

Who decides what is right and what is not?

For an example compare the Inuit people of the Arctic regions of Greenland to the North American people of, lets say, Union City, New Jersey.

Apparently, more 'attractive' voids are filled first. Same for Alchemy. Populations (for example) are attracted more to certain regions than to others.

Traffic actually models the movement of subatomic particles quite well. One might almost suspect that they go where they want to.

Space is required for most desired outcomes. There is also a dynamic of outflux from overcrowded regions.

In fact it's not exactly the physical dimensions that are relevant, but the attraction. A desired outcome attracts an appropriate agent as it manifests with minimal loss of energy (after all, things also wish to be).

The topography of the universe, then, is a topography of attraction, including the attraction of absence.

I guess it would depend on what is considered natural and what is not.

Is breathing/eating/drinking/prana inhaling parasitical?

I was thinking more in terms of artificially overpopulated places...for example the UK has a
population of approx 63 million...its actual landmass is able to support only 17 million people.
Guess who fills the void so that excessive population can keep the lavish lifestyle they are
accustomed to?

More a what than a who...Morals I guess?

Yes I agree, but many flock to places they falsely believe are paved with gold just to find the gold is
buried under foot by the mass of the population already there. Are we still that naive? Have we
learned nothing from all these years of evolution? Some of the greatest cities of the world are home
to some of the poorest and often homeless people.

Yes and when too many decide to accumulate in one place you get the heavy elements like Uranium with its inherent instability and we know what that instability is capable of.

All this from 10 seconds of a video :) On that note I should point out that this thread is supposed to be Alchemical Videos :(

Sorry

I'm quite removed from what one would say 'civilization' these days. Where I live I see primarily large trees, massive mountains, wildlife, etc. (Our recent entertainment has been why a beautiful red fox got 'freaked out' at the Halloween cat decoration the other night.) So when I watch this video, I'm amazed how much esoteric knowledge, whether true or not, make it into the social consciousness of our Planet these days. It's quite surreal when I watch it.

Also, I have all these precious manuscripts in physical format; I guess, it's not too far off when all things are found Online. What a world!

Thanks Ilos for the video.

More than a sign... Someone just drew my attention to an older thread with a post displaying a giant penis.
The author of the post obviously didn't intend it, because the title of the post indicated an entirely different image.
Most likely - the hosting site acted in a kindle-like fashion and replaced the linked alchemical image with a penis :)

Luckily, I located the original image a few posts down the thread (same title) and deleted the original post.

Weird coincidence, as both occurrences happened almost simultaneously...

What could it mean? Alchemically or otherwise?
