From now on, everyone will do their best to keep the Practical Alchemy section on the actual topic of PRACTICAL ALCHEMY.
Let us keep this section of the forum free from New Age speculations, authoritarian posturing, extensive 'holy scripture' quoting and any other kind of cultist or quasi-religious proselytizing. Let us also keep it free from the more modern interpretations of what alchemy is or isn't.
There is already a large corpus of classical alchemical literature available, dealing with the practical laboratory processes leading to the Great Philosopher's Stone. Some of this literature can be searched in Alchemical Texts, as well as in other online sources, and more rare texts are being transcribed, translated and made publicly available every year. This large corpus of alchemical literature is called classical for good reason: It stands the test of time, and its principles remain valid and relevant, independently of the Zeitgeist.
For anyone who wishes to discuss their own personal views and interpretations of what alchemy is or isn't, there are other sections of the forum, more suited for such exchanges. For the tech people, there is the Fringe Matters section. For the more spiritually inclined, there is the Spiritual Alchemy section. For the more tantric inclined, there is the Spiritus Vitae section. For those who absolutely must quote their favorite religious scriptures regardless of context, there is the Witnessing Thread as well as the Subtext section where you can discuss the subtext of various religious texts.
The Practical Alchemy section will be henceforth kept PRACTICAL, in the classical, laboratory sense of the word. For everything else, you will surely find a suitable section, elsewhere on this forum. See: What is Where.
In this Practical Alchemy section, everyone is encouraged to share their work or at least their working models, as long as such models are practically applicable in a classical laboratory setting. True, many discoveries related to universal life-force have been made in more recent years, decades or even centuries. If you wish to include such more recent concepts, please provide relevant context as to how you see such relatively newer discoveries as pertaining to the classical, universal alchemical principles.
It is highly recommended and desirable for everyone to base their postings in this section on classical texts and/or on direct, personal laboratory experience. If such laboratory experience is backed up with pictures, even better. And for those who don't actually do ANY laboratory work, you may post your practical models, on the condition that they are based on classical texts and are practically applicable in a laboratory setting.
No one is expected to be a master adept here, and even more than that, no one should act like one. And if you happen to actually be one, please keep it to yourself!
Everyone is encouraged to share within the range they are comfortable with. But if anyone feels like invading threads, authoritatively correcting others or making baseless speculative claims about other people and their work, this is NOT an acceptable behavior and will be promptly dealt with.
Yes, we are all at different stages and different levels of understanding and practice. This should not deter us from sharing like peers, in a friendly and collegial manner. In other words, no more substance-less power games. Such power games unfortunately often arrive pre-packaged within alchemical groups. For anyone looking for more authoritarian master-disciple dynamics, this is NOT the place.
Welcome to a New Era of the Practical Alchemy section!
